One of our greatest strengths at JPT is our dedicated, talented, and creative team of artists. We wanted to take a minute to give you a glimpse into their brilliant heads this week, so we managed to tear a couple of our designers away from their busy schedules to talk a bit about their inspirations. This week’s entry features Vanessa Salinas and Ashlie Nations talking about the art that motivates their art!
“Geometric art captures my interest right now. Seeing an ordinary subject such as a person or animal recreated in geometric form is really inspiring for me.”
And she took the time to show us some really cool examples. Take a look!
“Marc Ecko is a huge inspiration to me. He started out in a makeshift design studio located in a garage, and developed that into a billion-dollar global fashion and lifestyle company. Not only does he own several clothing lines under his company, he has also released a street art-based video game, is chairman and founder of Complex Media holdings, just put out a book titled Unlabel: Selling You Without Selling Out, and continually dedicates himself to numerous philanthropic efforts. He is an inspiration not only because of his passion and drive, creativity, and selflessness, but how versatile he is. Not to mention his amazing street art which is definitely an inspiration to the graffiti I do whenever I find that thing called ‘time.'”
After checking out that video, we can totally see how he would be an inspiring figure!
That’s it for today’s trip into the mind of the artists. Check back next time when they tell us about the music that gets them in creative mode.
